A World War Two Reminiscence

On the day after Pearl Harbor Day (remembering December 7, 1941), here is a WWII reminiscence in limerick form:

I once dated a young bombardier.
(He aimed bombs from a plane, near the rear.)
World War Two was our worry,
But we felt no hurry
All summer, that long-ago year.
