Images are more dramatic on a black background

Among the templates offered me for this blog is one with a black background and white text. I'm going to use it for awhile, because I think my photos look better on a black background. For example, this yellow iris:

The roses in the Ruth O'Brien Rose Garden on the Lipscomb University campus have suddenly bloomed out, just ahead of yesterday night's storm. I made these photos late in the afternoon, a couple of hours before sunset.
