Sunlit Bronze and Red

A different cultivar variety of dogwood from that in my sister's yard is in the front yard of my other next-door neighbor. It blooms earlier in the spring and changes leaf color earlier in the fall than does my sister's little tree.

Despite overnight wind and rain

Undaunted by the downpours of recent days, and thriving in the sunny, cool air that followed, the blossoms in the rose garden near Avalon Hall on the Lipscomb campus lured me in with my camera on Saturday morning.
The sign at the entrance to the little garden is a trifle the worse for wear. The mulch was slightly muddy around the rose bushes. After I took the photos, I went across the street to Pizza Perfect and indulged myself in a deluxe pizza. Brought it home, had 2 slices for lunch, and froze the rest. Pizza Perfect pizzas are always delicious. Should have photographed that for my blog, too, but was too tired and hungry to think of it!
